MyTv Subscription Card

MyTV is another strong provider of digital satellite paid TV services in Nigeria and the entire sub-Saharan Africa. As much as many of its channels are paid for, there are also  many free-to-air channels which have given them a reputation as a subscriber-friendly satellite TV service provider. However, to enjoy these services, you basically need a Strong brand Model of decoder, a satellite dish and most importantly the recommended settings to enable you to jump onto the satellite successfully.

In this post, I'll be teaching you how to tweak you Satellite decoder setting to get Free-to-air MyTV channels with the best settings for Strong Decoders. Also, I'll be teaching you how to organize these settings and fix your dish for these settings to work properly for you. Do you wish to know the free to air channels that MyTV offers through Strong Decoders? Before you finish reading this post, you will find them.

MyTV uses similar technology as employed by DStv. But better still, MyTV offers more free to air channels than DStv. Installation mechanisms for both are same except in the settings of the DStv decoders and Strong Decoders putting into consideration the settings for MyTV which I shall show you now. When these satellite settings are properly inputted, the dish is now skewed to pick up the MyTV signals.

•BEST SATELLITE SETTINGS FOR STRONG DECODERS

There are many satellites in space but MyTV signals come to us through the Intelsat 20 satellite. This satellite is positioned in the orbit at 68.5 degrees East. Primarily, your LNB which is the camera-like device at the mouth of your satellite should be in universal settings mode and the parameters listed below must be properly inputted before you can have access to MyTV Channels and other free to air channels on MyTV with Strong Decoders. Now, before you scan your Strong Decoder, the settings should look this way;

Satellite: Intelsat 20
Orbital Position: 68.5 degrees East
LNB: Universal
Transponder Frequency: 12.522 MHz
Symbol Rate: 29.950 Ms/s
FEC: 3/4
and
Transponder Frequency: 12.722 MHz
Symbol Rate: 26.657 Ms/s
FEC: 1/2
Polarization: Horizontal

and for the MyTV Smart brand of satellite decoder settings, its signals come via the Eutelsat 16A satellite in space. The details of the technical settings are as follows;

Satellite: Eutelsat 16A
Orbital Position: 16 deg. East
LNB: Universal
Transponder Frequency: 12.521 MHz
Polarization: Horizontal
Symbol Rate: 30.000 Ms/s

Once you have added these satellite settings appropriately to your decoder, scan your decoder and you will be surprised to see you have now got the channels.

HOW TO KNOW THE FREE TO AIR CHANNELS ON MYTV

Not all the channels you see on your subscribed MyTV Strong decoder that are free to air. When your subscription expires, you are now left with the channels transmitted free of charge to you. These channels are not controlled by MyTV but because of the satellite settings inputted in the Strong Decoder, it automatically captures the signals from the satellite in space transmitting these channels and therefore, you are able to watch them.
The good news is that these channels are many in number and covers many aspects of home entertainment. They include;

  1. I Googled for an expert in satellite TV installation in Randburg, and it helped in reaching Dstvinstallation-Randburg.com easily. I noted down the phone number of service provider and called him up for DSTV installation immediately.
